    Rhys was simply a traitor. He helped to kill King Richard, who had been isolated, dehorsed, and surrounded by William Stanley's army, by striking the King from behind. Rhys had previously sworn to guard Wales from Henry and his foreign army. So much for his character.

    According to The Plantagenet, you'd say he was indeed a turncoat, and a traitor to England's anointed king, further, that if that an man, even though he may be The Memelord in disguise, may be a turncoat once, then WHY!! • @hildahilpert5018
      @hildahilpert5018 5 днів тому

      Well , Richard had plenty of opportunities to show his nephews to the public.Yes they were in the Tower of London, but he could have taken them out and paraded them before the public.Also, regardless of how they died Richard could have a joint funeral for both boys at Westminster Abbey and had a public viewing.Letting the common man and woman see them for themselves.People understood that even kings die of disease. They wouldn't think much of the deaths. Richard messed up big time.

    • @Moose.-vy5ye
      @Moose.-vy5ye День тому

      @hilda. The custom of the time was to publically display the bodies of important deceased individuals to avoid rebellions in that person's name, or imposter. The fact that Richard did not do so is one reason the boys may have still been alive. Another reason was the behaviour of their mother, who certainly would not have allowed her five daughters and herself out of sanctuary and into Richard's court, if she believed that he killed her sons. Finally, and per the recent report of the Missing Princes Project, Richard of Shrewsbury (the younger prince) came out of hiding on the continent in the early 1490s. He was examined, separately, by young Richard's former servants and by his Aunt Margaret of Burgundy. Not only did he respond correctly to questions about private conversations of the past, but he resembled Edward IV in appearance, and had the same three moles that the young prince was born with. This person was what only Henry the Usurper called "Perkin Warbeck", which was a tactic of deflection and intententional confusion of the public.

    All the major Western countries' Intelligence agencies were suspicious enough of the official version to investigate various South American leads for decades, it wasn't just the US. It makes sense for Hitler to have fled (like Bormann) instead of having had the courage to shoot at himself in the head. History showed that it's a mistake to still underestimate what top exec Nazis were truly capable of esp about deception/lies to save their own lives (Albert Speer manipulated most to pretend he was very regretful, felt very guilty etc, to save his own neck at the Nuremberg trials (knowing there was too much evidence to play denial and the Following the orders Card, like the others top exec Nazis did for the trial), then to get a lot of attention/fame & money after he was released from prison in the 1960s). Don't underestimate what ppl like Goebbels and Bormann were capable of to help their leader flee the country and build a 4th reich from South America or something. These ppl were fanatics, smart, very resourceful still, had billions in gold at their disposal, very effective U-boats to take them on top of several very sympathetic countries (starting with Spain) in South America happy to welcome influent, useful to their dictatorships and of course wealthy Nazis. We'll never know the truth for certain, there's always false testimonies mixed with the truth, but there's not smoke without fire, esp that kind of smoke and for so long. I do believe Hitler's massive ego prevented him from killing himself. People claiming "he wouldn't have lived anonymously after the war & for so long bc his face was too well known and his ego wouldn't have tolerated anonymity": It was a very different time, and like the CIA files showed it was rather easy for him to look very different just by cutting off the moustache and changing haircut. Plastic surgery was already efficient at the time, it was very possible to alter a few things to his face. Besides, to the World's knowledge he had died so it'd have been easier to fool the ppl not in The Know, to threaten or bribe staffs for their silence, at the time South American countries didn't have stable economies, testimonies from retired staff from hotels & residences said they kept their mouth shut for a long time bc didn't want to lose their job or worse. These ppl weren't Nazi Hunters like Wisenthal and the Klarsfelds!! In addition from many testimonies he didn't live anonymously where he was, he was among small & tight communities of wealthy Nazis that protected him/the secret, treated him with the same respect, lavish lifestyle and a tight security. South America was the perfect fit for rich Nazis on the run, dictatorships on that continent whether helped out of ideology or were bribed to turn a blind eye, protecting these ppl from extradition in many cases. Argentina was on top of that list. IF he did escape and lived for 10 to 15 years in South America until his death (considering his bad health and longterm drugs addiction it's not realistic to believe he lived past the 1960s) he certainly didn't live in a cave nor modestly like Eichmann. The mansion in Patagonia (where allegedly he lived for quite some time) was luxurious, big, in a remote creek on a lake, the kind of residences he had in Bavaria. I think there's too much smoke without fire, even if Hitler's physical & mental healths were bad by 1945 we shouldn't underestimate how a person's massive ego can fuel their will to survive, making dictators like him believe "No one else could continue the reich's destiny/mission (or whatever) BUT me." I believe Hitler and Bormann escaped successfully, that Spain helped them, that the CIA eventually found out for certain about it (like MI6 +other Western Intelligence agencies) but that they all agreed on saying nothing bc it'd have shown they had ALL been fooled by the Russians, which would have been really BAD Press for them esp during the Cold War, and these Intelligence's incompetence, needing so long to find Hitler, would have ridiculed them, which once again would have made them look really bad via à vis Russia during the Cold War, even more during the Vietnam War when the "consipracy" got a lot of attention in Western Media.. So it was easier to let Hitler and Bormann grow old then die under false identities without the World knowing about it, and let conspiracy theories spread more instead (like about the JFK assassination) bc it always blurs the truth esp when these agencies add lies, false testimonies to the mix on purpose. As Goebbels used to say (sadly he was right on this): "The bigger the lie the more the population believes it, and the less it suspects it's a lie (bc it's too big to be a lie, right?). It's sad to see the same disinformation technics still work so smoothly about so much 80 years later.

    By anyone's measure, Richard of York was a bitter monster who by modern evidence we know killed his own two wee nephews and seized the throne. Stone is just looking to line his own pockets in the way that Richard was known to practice deceit to twist those around him like his own twisted body.

      Please stop believing Shakespeare and Thomas More. And read more about Richard of course he was a man of his time but he made sure that the common people were heard. He was the one who started bale instead of bailing before sentencing. He changed the economy of the north of England for the best.And there is no evidence at all that he murdered his nephews or even that they were killed at all.twice there have been a court case over this murder and twice he has been declared innocent.

    Looks like the site has been previously broken up, leaving holes in the structures. The trench is proof of defensive works. It may be a camp rather than a full fort as they would have moved forward and might not need full improvement at the beach head. In WWII we didn't fort up on the French coast after landing but pushed on with harbor improvements rather than full forting up.
